Willowstar lead the way to Snowy Peak, followed by Rainpaw and Mistpaw. She was glad that she could finally get a breack from the searing heat and troubles of the Clan and finally relax a bit. Willowstar loved hunting, it was always her best as an apprentice, opening her jaws the plentiful smells of prey surounded her. It was wonderful, and now she could share her joys with the apprentices. Abruptly turning around she asked "So, what do you smell?"

((It's just Mistpaw, not Mistypaw))
Rainpaw followed excitedly behind Willowstar. As Willowstar asked what he smelled, Rainpaw tasted the air.
"Mouse, Vole, and a stale scent of rabbit" He mewed proudly. Mistpaw shrugged.
"Sure" She mewd.

((sorry, I will change that))
"Good job" said Willowstar to the apprentices, she could tell that Rainpaw would make a good warrior. Walking a few more taillengths she turned to Mistpaw and asked "What smells different here?" It was near the Iceclan so she expected her to scent something frozen/cold/wet.

Mistpaw shivered as a cold breeze came by. She managed to get a quick scent of it.
"Very very cold" She mewed through chattering teeth. Unlike Rainpaw, Mistpaw had a fairly short coat, while Rainpaw inherited his father's long-haired coat.
Rainpaw purred.
"Of course, we're near the IceClan border. I've been here once, when I was looking for Cinderpaw..." He mewed trailing off.

Willowstar looked at Rainpaw quizically then discarded her thoughts. Turning to Mistpaw she said"Good job!, now let go farther up the mountain!" Willowstar bounded ahead sure footedly then stopped suddenly, remembering that the apprentices had never been up Snowy Peak before.

Rainpaw followed enthusiastically, not really watching where he was going. He continued to run, and without realizing it was there, tripped in a small hole.
"Oof!" He said as he landed. Rainpaw staggered to his feet, then followed Willowstar again.
Mistpaw let out a small laugh. Her brother was trying so hard to impress Willowstar. In the process, he was occasionally making a fool of himself. Mistpaw continued to follow, but more carefully.

Willowstar looked upon the apprentices with pride, they would become so good. Rainpaw always enthusiastic and Mistpaw always carefull. Going further up the mountain she passed a medium sized Yew tree and skillfully climbed to a thick branch near the top. She wanted to show them how far up the mountain they were all ready.

Rainpaw quickly scurried up the tree next to Willowstar. He gaped at what he saw.
"Whoa!" He mewed when he saw how high they were "Mistpaw come look at this!"
Mistpaw climbed up the tree and sat down next to her brother. She too was amazed.
"It's beautiful" She breathed.

Willowstar agreed, she often came here to find some peace, away from the busy problems of the clans. "Now" she began "This tree is important do any of you know why?" She hoped they would since it could be dangerous, a yew tree is poisonous. So deadly that you would know they died by eating a leave because there would be Yew leaves still in their mouth. Hopefully they would know before they tried any of it.

Rainpaw shrugged. He didn't really know.
This was a question Mistpaw knew.
"It's a yew tree" She mewed "and yew is poisonous"

"Wow" replied Willowstar, she was impressed with the knowledge of the tiny apprentice, she would be a good medicine cat apprentice Willowstar thought vaguely. Allowing them to take one more look she jumped down from the tree and began to climb the last bit of the mountain.

Rainpaw jumped down the tree and started to follow Willowstar. He ran toward her after he landed, wanting to see the top of the peak. Suddenly he heard his sister yowl and whirled around.
Mistpaw yowled as she landed. Her paw slipped and she started falling down the mountain. Closing her eyes in fear, she felt teeth meet her scruff. Mistpaw looked up and saw Rainpaw dragging her upward until she could stand.
"C'mon" Rainpaw mewed "Let's go catch up"
Mistpaw nodded and quickly followed her brother.

Willowstar heard the earsplitting yowl and turned quickly to see Rainpaw catching his sister by the scruff just before she was out of reach. As they hurried to catch up she heard a slight sound in the sparse brush. Signaling with her tail to stay silent she slowly creep up to them and asked who wanted to catch the first of the prey.

Rainpaw quickly raised his tail, signalling he wanted to. Rainpaw crouched low and stalked forward, taking each step carefully. Careful not to step on a twig or dislodge a stone, Rainpaw crept closer to the bush. Just a little closer... Rainpaw bunched his muscles together and lunged into the bush, emerging quickly with a mouse in his mouth.
Mistpaw purred at her brother as he came back with the prey. Hearing another rustle, Mistpaw signalled that she would catch this one. She crouched low and stalked forward, taking each step carefully. Her soft paws working well on the mountain. Bunching her muscles together, Mistpaw lunged. The mouse must've somehow heard her, and scurried away. Mistpaw emerged with nothing.

"Thats OK" Willowstar said when she say Mistpaw's sad face emerge from the brush. "I didnt catch my first few mice either." She hoped that might cheer her up but it probably wouldnt. When she couldnt catch her mouse she had been angry at everyone until she finally caught one. "Anyway, there are plenty of mice, and this is just a practice anyway, how about we walk farther on, there will probably be more near the cough herbs."
