Dozing « Thread Started on Feb 4, 2007, 12:50pm »
Shatteredlynx lay in her nest, eyes closed, but not sleeping. She stirred a bit, shifting into another position. She had not slept that night, but had many sad memories of her past. She had finally dozed off, crying herself to sleep. She had terifying dreams of things to come and had awoken once more with a jolt. Now she just lay in her nest, half on this planet and half off. her mind wandered from thought to thought, each one a random as the next. She sighed, coming back to earth and to cruel reality. It would be a long day. Shatteredlynx knew that it was practicly sunhigh, but what did she care? She shifted once more then finally got up, surrendering sleep to the day. First Shatteredlynx streached, first forward, then back, and finally arching up. She then yawned, parting her jaws and drawing in the smell of fresh-kill. A pang of hunger hit her, making her stomach throb. Shatteredlynx hissed in pain as another wave of hunger hit her. She bounded out to the fresh-kill pile to find it empty. Flopping down, she felt her energy leave her, knowing she must hunt if she wanted food. Shatteredlynx finally heaved herself up into a sitting position, looking for a cat that might share their food. But the clearing was empty as Shatteredlynx surveyed it. She closed her eyes, feeling the sun beat down on her back. Turning her face toward the warmth, she squinted he eyes. It was a good warm day even if it was winter. Shatteredlynx closed her eyes and listened to the chirping cicadas. Se relaxed, then slowly after a long moment opened her eyes. She got up from sitting and headed out of camp to hunt.

Creamkit saw the two cats and bounded up after them. "Hello" she said quickly, panted from the sprint over to them, her green eyes sparkled against her light cream-colored pelt. She bowed her head to Bramblestar and turned to Shatteredlynx. Wow she thought she looks really sad trying to make her feel better she brightened up quickley from her thoughts and asked "So, when can I get a mentor?" her eyes were hopful as she lifted her chin up high her nose catching the wiff of butterfly in doing so. she turned around before they could tell her that she was too young and bounded across the camp, leaping after the butterfly.

Shatteredlynx nodded half-heartedly towards Brambleclaw, as he joined her as she ventured toward the Burnt field and the lone tree where she hoped to find some tasty mice for herself and her clan. When Creamkit skidded up to the two, Shatteredlynx jumped back, taken off gaurd. The kit asked her some question about getting a mentor that Shatteredlynx didn't quite catch, and then bolted after a butterfly that was passing by.
Shatteredlynx tore her eyes away from the cream-colored kit whom was fixated on the butterfly at the moment, and rested them on the depudy's face. "I'd be happy to mentor Creamkit when she comes of age." Shatteredlynx said, her mind now on the topic of mentoring.
